Child dedications

Child Dedication

September 24th, 2017

Why Do We Dedicate Kids?

As believers we are called to recognize that children belong first and foremost to God. God in His goodness gives us our children as a gift. We as parents get the awesome responsibility of caring for this gift, and the privilege of enjoying this gift. Because our children belong first to God it is only appropriate that we dedicate them back to God.

What Is The Process?

If you are interested in having your child dedicated on Sunday, Sept 24 at one of our 3 services; 8:30am, 9:45am, or 11:15am, please email me and let me know. We will set up a meeting between you and one of our pastors to walk through what this commitment is all about and pray with you for the journey ahead.

Spiritual Parenting

"Listen, O Israel! The Lord is our God, the Lord alone. And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates." Deuteronomy 4:6-9

It's hard enough to teach kids to behave, but good behavior isn't what Jesus calls us to build in out kids. He want hearts and souls that are shaped in vibrant faith and love toward God and others. How can we as parents cultivate that in our kids?

Join us for journey where we as parents will be inspired, equipped and empowered to be the primary nurturers of our kids' faith. We will learn how to create an environment where God can work in the lives of our kids. We will learn how to create space for God-encounters everyday that will transform our kids, ourselves as parents and our families.

This is a 7 week adventure for parents beginning on Sunday, October 1 and finishing on Sunday, November 12. We will meet at 8:30am in The LIGHThouse.

The class is $5 per family to cover the cost of materials.
